Scoring Process
Scoring Guidelines
-
All applications are initially reviewed by two Scientific Review Committee members based on a one-page specific aims summary using the provided template, as well as a personal statement, research abstract, budget summary, and applicant & mentor biosketch.
-
Applications receiving the highest scores in the initial review of the one-page specific aims summary will be invited to submit a detailed proposal.
-
The Scientific Review Committee will evaluate and score the detailed proposals and conduct in-depth discussions of the most competitive applications during a review meeting, at which awardees and runners-up will be selected by consensus.
- All applications advanced to the discussion stage are considered highly competitive, and will receive written feedback outlining their research strengths and areas for development, regardless of funding outcome.
